Remilk Proposed a New Alt-Dairy Facility in Denmark Claiming to be World’s Largest

Remilk, an Israel-based company, one of the pioneers in producing non-animal milk protein has announced to construct “world’s largest full-scale precision fermentation facility” in Denmark. The proposed new facility has a protein-capacity equivalent to the amount that is obtained from almost 50,000 cows each year.

Remilk uses a yeast-based precision fermentation process to produce non-animal dairy protein for use in products like cheese, yogurt, and ice cream. The announcement of the new facility comes on the back of the company’s recent $120 million funding round, in January’22. The large-scale investments combined with favorable policies by governments across the world are encouraging alt-dairy companies to scale up their production capacities, which affirms a tremendous growth potential for this industry.
