SABIC TO DEBUT AT PCIM ASIA CONFERENCE 2022 40% THINNER ELCRES™ HTV150A FILM TO SUPPORT HIGH-HEAT SIC INVERTER TECHNOLOGY FOR XEV

For xEV, the transition from Si to SiC technology is inevitable, and with it, the use of high-temperature film capacitors in the inverter, onboard charger, compressors, and other crucial parts. The limitation of PP-based film to operate above 135 °C has created a brand-new market for SABIC’s ELCRES™ HTV150A FILM, which can operate up to 150 °C. Being 40% thinner than the previous 5 microns (3 microns), it will improve energy density, allowing for better acceleration and the extended range that end users seek.
